Perplexity AI Now Creates Videos on X FORMALLY twitter—Here’s What You Need to Know

AI search company Perplexity has rolled out a new video-generation feature for its chatbot on X (formerly Twitter), bringing a fresh wave of AI-generated content to the platform owned by Elon Musk.

The upgraded @AskPerplexity bot now lets users create short, eight-second video clips complete with visuals, audio, and even dialogue. To use it, all you need to do is tag @AskPerplexity in a post along with your prompt. In response, the bot sends back an AI-generated video that attempts to bring your idea to life in just a few seconds.

While the feature is sure to drive engagement and creative experimentation, it has also raised some eyebrows. X FORMALLY twitter has long been under scrutiny for its hands-off approach to moderating content, and this new video tool could amplify concerns about the potential spread of misinformation. Perplexity has responded to those worries, stating it has deployed strict content filters to prevent misuse of the feature.

Since the launch, the internet has done what it does best—push boundaries. Users have flooded the platform with imaginative (and sometimes absurd) AI-generated scenes featuring celebrities, politicians, and other public figures. With the influx of requests, the bot’s response times have slowed, and the account even humorously acknowledged the volume with a post: “I’ve read through your video request DMs. Some of y’all need help.”

Beyond X, Perplexity has also been working on expanding its reach. Earlier this year, it launched on WhatsApp, giving users access to its AI assistant without needing to download a separate app or sign up.

To try it, users simply add something number to their contacts and start chatting—whether on a phone, desktop, or via WhatsApp Web.

However, not everything has been smooth sailing. Perplexity is currently facing legal pressure from several media outlets. The BBC recently accused the company of using its content without permission to train AI models and has threatened legal action unless the company halts the practice, deletes existing datasets, and offers financial compensation. In a firm rebuttal, Perplexity called the BBC’s stance “manipulative and opportunistic,” claiming the broadcaster misunderstood how the technology and intellectual property laws work.

As Perplexity continues to evolve and expand its AI capabilities, it’s clear the startup is pushing boundaries—both technically and legally. Whether this new video tool proves to be a powerful creative outlet or a moderation challenge remains to be seen.

Why Perplexity AI Is Becoming a Go-To Tool for Real-Time Information

Perplexity AI is proving to be a game-changer for users who need instant access to real-time updates. Whether you’re tracking stock prices, following election coverage, checking live sports scores, or monitoring the weather, the platform delivers the latest information without requiring you to bounce between multiple apps or websites. Everything is conveniently available in one place.

For investors, the ability to pull live stock quotes directly from the chatbot is especially valuable. Meanwhile, shoppers can take advantage of its ability to compare product prices across different platforms—making it easier to find the best deals in seconds.

Beyond real-time tracking, Perplexity AI also shines as a personal learning assistant. Its interactive nature allows self-learners to ask follow-up questions, explore topics in greater depth, and enjoy a more tailored educational experience.

Whether you’re staying informed, shopping smart, or diving deep into a subject you’re curious about, Perplexity AI offers a streamlined and highly responsive way to stay ahead.
